We are pleased to announce that Dr. Giovanna Barba-Spaeth, head of FlavImmunity group at Institut Pasteur, Coordinator of Yellow4FLAVI, was invited to for a keynote lecture at the symposium “Emergence of arboviruses and antibiotic resistance", held in the historic city of Montpellier.

Hosted at the world’s oldest Faculty of Medicine (established in 1220), the symposium brought together leading researchers and public health experts to discuss the emergence of arboviruses—such as flaviviruses—and the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance. The event served as a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, sharing research findings, and exploring innovative strategies to address pressing global health threats.

Dr. Barba-Spaeth’s presentation offered an overview of the Yellow4FLAVI project, highlighting our objectives in advancing flavivirus vaccine development and strengthening cross-sector collaboration. The symposium also discussed opportunities to foster collaboration with our sister Horizon Europe project, FLAVIVACCINE, as both initiatives strive to expand scientific understanding and improve preparedness against flavivirus outbreaks.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Julien Pompon for the kind invitation and for promoting such important and timely discussions.
