Privacy policy

The Yellow4FLAVI project is a multi-disciplinary approach to deconstruct the protective immunity of yellow fever 17D vaccine to inform the design of flaviviruses vaccines in general.

The project partners have established this website as a communication channel with the various stakeholders that are involved in and/or can benefit from the project's information and outcomes. To allow bidirectional communication, we provide a contact form and e-mail address to reach out to us. In this context we collect and use personal data in the ways detailed below.

Who collects and uses data

The Yellow4FLAVI website and thus data controller is part of the  Yellow4FLAVI Communications & Dissemination Work Package, led by Institut Pasteur Paris (25-28 Rue du Dr Roux, 75015, Paris, France).

The Yellow4FLAVI website is hosted by the company WIX, whose registered address is Wix Online Platforms Limited; 1 Grant's Row, Dublin 2 D02HX96; Ireland.

 

WIX states that it complies with applicable regulations, including GDPR (details may be found at: https://support.wix.com/en/article/general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr).

For the purpose of hosting the website, Institut Pasteur Paris is the website’s data processor and data controller.

For Yellow4FLAVI to offer its communication services, the data collected are available to the Yellow4FLAVI Coordination team managing project communications, with a contact address of “Yellow4FLAVI management, Institut Pasteur, 25-28 Rue du Dr Roux, 75015, Paris, France”.

Third parties

We do not give away, transfer, or sell your data to any third parties. We may only transmit them to another data controller, upon your request to exercise your right to data portability (see below).

Disclosure of data

Yellow4FLAVI may disclose your personal data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary:

  • to comply with a legal obligation

  • to protect and defend the rights of Yellow4FLAVI

  • to prevent or investigate possible wrong doing in connection with the website

  • to protect the personal safety of users of the website or the public

  • to protect against legal liability

 

What data we collect

While using our project website, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personal identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • E-mail address

  • First name and last name

When you fill out a contact form on our website or contact us in another way, we collect:

  • Basic identity information you provide to us (such as your name, your e-mail address)

  • The content of your communication and the technical details of the communication itself (with whom you correspond at our end, date, etc)

  • Any other personal data you choose to provide to us.

  • We receive all personal data mentioned above directly from you.

 

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and rights of the data subject

In compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and receive your personal data. To do so, please send an e-mail with the subject line “Yellow4FLAVI website GDPR” to yellow4flavi.coordination@pasteur.fr

Specifically, you shall have the right to obtain from the controller:

1) information about your personal data stored at any time and a copy of this information (“right of access by the data subject”),

2) rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you (“right to rectification”),

3) erasure of personal data concerning you (“right to erasure” or “right to be forgotten”; conditions apply/see GDPR-Article 17),

4) restriction of data processing (“right to restriction of processing”; conditions apply/see GDPR-Article 18),

5) personal data concerning you, which was provided to a controller, in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, including possibility of transmission from the PvSTATEM controller to another controller (“right to data portability”; conditions apply/see GDPR-Article 20). In addition, you shall have the right to object to processing of your personal data (“right to object”).

 

How we store and use data

The project website https://www.yellow4flavi.eu/ contains a contact form that enable quick electronic contact to our consortium. If a data subject contacts the data controller by e-mail or via the contact form, the personal data transmitted by the data subject are automatically stored through a plug-in in WIX. Personal information collected via the contact form is stored in the Yellow4FLAVI website server located in Ireland. Such personal data transmitted on a voluntary basis by a data subject to the data controller are stored for the purpose of processing the request or contacting the data subject.

The project will run from 2024 to 2028. Funded by the European Commission (Horizon Europe Programme for Research and Innovation), the project reports its communication activities and impact evaluation to the latter. To maximize its impact, the project has established a communication plan that includes a website as communication channel. In this context, if you reach out to us via the contact form of this website or via the e-mail address yellow4flavi-coordination@pasteur.fr, we will recover your name and e-mail to respond to your requests. The provided personal data will be exclusively used to assess your request and to provide the requested information.

Length of personal data storage

The data controller shall store the personal data of the data subject only for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of storage.

Data security

While making every attempt to secure personal data, Yellow4FLAVI cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access or loss of personal information that is beyond the control of Yellow4FLAVI .

The data in transit is encrypted using the most current version of HTTPS/TLS.
